Fibre Fault Between ES/BCN01 and IT/MIL01 (SN-20200514-1)
Resolved on Friday 15 May at 08:24 UTC.
There is currently a fault with a fibre link between ES/BCN01 (Equinix Barcelona) and IT/MIL01 (Caldera 21).
Traffic has been automatically re-routed using alternate paths and there has been no interruption to service.
Customers should be aware that these sites are operating with reduced resilience only. There is no service level impact. We will update this notice once the route is brought back into service.

Engineers completed the splicing works overnight and the fibre has now been brought back into service. Both sites are now operating at full resilience.

Engineers have excavated the fibre break and are currently undertaking splicing works. Whilst we are now seeing our fibre restored we still regard this link as "at-risk" until all fibre splicing works have been completed.

This is a confirmed break in the long-haul route. Engineers have been dispatched and have traced the fault location to outside of Genoa and are en route now. We will continue to update this notice as the issue progresses.
